Defense Will Anchor Hofstra's Next Title Run
Bringing back the 2007 CAA Pitcher of the Year in Kayleigh Lotti, Hofstra should have the defensive strength to win an 11th consecutive conference championship. The Pride is on an impressive tear, having won all six Colonial Athletic Conference titles since joining the CAA in 2002, and having Lotti back in the circle should help them continue the streak. Lotti finished her sophomore season with a 23-5 record and 1.41 ERA. Her school-record 319 strikeouts ranked her 15th in the nation in strikeouts per seven innings, and she was even better in conference play, notching an 11-1 mark and 0.97 ERA.
