Maryland's Rachel Wagener Named ACC Volleyball Player of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Maryland middle blocker Rachel Wagener was named this week's Atlantic Coast Conference Volleyball Player of the Week, after helping the Terrapins claim the Courtyard by Marriott Ft. Meade Invitational title.

The Terps began the season with a 3-1 victory over Marshall, led by Wagener who hit an impressive .692 with 20 kills and four blocks. In a three-game sweep of Rutgers, the Chesapeake, Va., native registered a hitting percentage of .476 with 11 kills and seven blocks. In the title clinching match against Texas-Arlington, Wagener led Maryland to a 3-0 victory with 14 kills and seven blocks.

Over Maryland's ten games, Wagener averaged 1.80 blocks per game, while recording a hitting percentage of .527.
