USC will open the 2008 season at the Runza/AVCA Showcase in Omaha, Neb. The Women of Troy plays Texas and host Nebraska in two matches to be televised by CBS College Sports.

LOS ANGELES -- The USC women's volleyball team will open the 2008 season at the Runza/AVCA Showcase in Omaha, Neb., as announced today by AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches Association) Executive Director Kathy DeBoer. USC will open with a rematch of last year's NCAA Regional final against Texas on Friday (Aug. 29) at 9:30 p.m. Central before taking on host Nebraska on Sunday (Aug. 31) at 3 p.m.

Both matches will be televised live on CBS College Sports.

Tickets for the event will go on sales to the general public this Saturday (May 31) at noon Central through the Qwest Center in Omaha and Ticketmaster. All-session ticket prices are $39 and $32.

The tournament is being billed as a Pac-10/Big 12 showdown as Stanford will be the fourth team involved that weekend. Stanford and USC faced each other in the NCAA national semifinal last December in Sacramento while Nebraska and Texas finished the season ranked No. 5 and No. 6 in the nation, respectively.
