Seniors Set To Shine In Final Home Match

Anderson, Humphrey, Lederhouse and Schofield to compete one last time in Spokane

Spokane, Wash. - Seniors Emily Anderson, Erin Humphrey, Sydney Lederhouse and Carrie Schofield will all compete in their final home match Tuesday as the Gonzaga University women's tennis team hosts the University of Idaho Tuesday at 1:30 at the Spokane Racquet Club.

Anderson highlights the talented group of seniors as she has posted 33 career victories. Last year, the native of Bradenton, Fla. became the first Bulldog (9-11) earn two West Coast Conference accolades. In 2006, she was awarded WCC honorable mention accolades and before earning the honor again last season. Last season, she was also selected as a WCC All-Academic selection.

Humphrey will graduate from the Gonzaga program with 17 career victories. During the 2005-07 seasons, the native of Vadnais Heights, Minn. native combined with fellow senior Lederhouse to post 18 victories in doubles play.

Lederhouse has amassed 27 career victories for the Bulldogs during her four seasons on the squad. As a freshman in 2005, she posted a career-high 12 singles victories.

Schofield will graduate from the program this season after playing three seasons for the Zags. After redshirting the 2004-05 season, Schofield has posted five career singles victories and nine doubles victories, including six last year.

Gonzaga enters Tuesday's contest on a five-match win streak. All five contests have come in convincing fashion, as the Zags have shutout opponents in three of the matches while posting 6-1, 5-2 victories in the other two.

Tuesday's match will be the first time this season GU and Idaho (15-8) have met on the courts. Last season, the Vandals took two matches from the Bulldogs.
