Several Wildcats Earn Academic Honors for 2008 Season

Nicci Ward named CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II

Graduated senior Nicci Ward earned three academic honors.

VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Villanova softball team had several players earn academic honors for their work in the classroom and on the field in the 2008 season.

Graduated senior Nicci Ward was named to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II Team as well as a Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area selection. Ward, who majored in Sociology, was also named a BIG EAST Academic All-Star by the conference office.

Several other Wildcats were selected as BIG EAST Academic All-Stars. Current sophomore Christina Botkins (Business major), graduated senior Carolyn Brown (Communication major), graduated senior Jessica Curtis (Marketing), graduated senior Jackie Dempsey (Communication), current sophomore Allie Heon (Arts-Undeclared), current sophomore Becky LaMarca (Nursing), current junior Danielle Maricle (Psychology), current senior Meghan Morese (Electrical Engineering), current senior Lauren Peterson (Communication), graduated senior Kat Walsh (Marketing), and current sophomore Stephanie Zrebiec (Arts-Undeclared) were all selected for having a minimum GPA of 3.00, and completed a minimum of two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters of academic work, with a total of 18 semester or 27 quarter credits, not including remedial courses.
