April 26, 2008
CHARLOTTE, NC- The La Salle Explorers (20-23, 6-11 A-10) fell 3-0 to the Charlotte 49er's (28-25, 10-5 A-10) in the first game on the road, getting just one hit in the loss. La Salle pitcher Laura Beth McCreesh allowed nine hits in six innings of work to take the loss and go to 11-6 on the season.
Charlotte struck in the first when the 49er's base runner advanced to third and then home on two wild pitches.
The Explorers got their lone hit of the game when sophomore Gina Massaro singled up the middle in the top of the fourth and junior Danielle Signorelli reached on a fielder's choice to put runners at first and second. La Salle could not get any further as the 49er's retired the next three Explorer batters to get out of trouble.
In the bottom of the fourth Charlotte would get two RBI singles to go up 3-0, a lead they would not relinquish as La Salle suffered an A-10 loss.
