OXFORD - The RedHawks needed just one run in Saturday's game against Ball State to take down the Cardinals, 1-0, winning its third game in Miami's last four contests.

Sophomore pitcher Meredith Linch tossed her first complete-game shutout of the season, allowing just three hits to Ball State batters. Linch struck out eight batters en route to her 11th victory of the year.

Driving in the game's only run was senior outfielder Breanna Robinson. Her first inning triple plated Meghan Mawn, giving Robinson her 33rd RBI of the season. Robinson needs to drive in just five more runs this season to break Leslie Macedo's all-time record for RBI in a season (37).

The two teams will close out their series Sunday afternoon, with a first pitch set for 1 p.m. Sunday is "Culture of Champions" day at the Miami Softball Stadium, where Miami student-athletes and professors will be honored for their daily commitment to success on the field and in the classroom.
