California softball junior Haley Woods was named Pac-10 Conference Player of the Week on Tuesday, the second time the slugging catcher has captured the honor this season.

Woods finished the April 4-10 week batting 6-for-12 (.500) with six RBIs, two home runs and two runs scored. In Cal's 10-0 defeat of Saint Mary's in game No. 1 of an April 6 doubleheader, Woods went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and her three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth invoked the eight-run rule. She added two RBIs in game No. 2, also a 10-0 victory.

In the Bears' April 9-10 split with No. 12 UCLA, Woods collected two hits, the second of which was a two-out, seventh-inning home run that broke up Bruin Anjelica Selden's no-hitter on Sunday. As a testament to Woods' plate prowess, Selden intentionally walked the slugger in back-to-back at-bats in the Bears' 2-1 victory April 9.

At the plate in 2005, Woods is hitting .350 and leads Cal in homers (12), RBIs (47), total bases (87) and slugging percentage (.707).

Woods, a native of Burlingame, Calif., previously won the award March 8. It is the third conference honor for the Bears this season, following senior Kelly Anderson's Pitcher of the Week award March 29.

The No. 3 Bears return to action Wednesday at Sacramento State in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. before resuming Pac-10 play at Oregon (April 15) and No. 10 Oregon State (April 16-17).
