LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The Pacific softball team closed out UNLV Eller Media Stadium Classic competition with a 2-0 defeat to Bowling Green on Sunday, Mar. 13, at Eller Media Stadium. With the loss, the Tigers dropped to 12-8 on the season and finished Classic play with a 3-2 mark. Bowling Green improved to 3-12.

Bowling Green struck first in the game as Kristen Anderson doubled home Natalie Armintrout from first base to give the Falcons a 1-0 edge in the top of the second. Anderson then homered leading off the fourth to put Bowling Green in front, 2-0. The home run was the Falcons' first of the season as a team, and Anderson entered the game with just one RBI and no extra-base hits.

Junior left-hander Lindsay Heimrich took over from there for Bowling Green, limiting Pacific to just two base hits in a complete-game shutout performance. She improved to 2-4.

Senior Natalie King (Huntington Beach, Calif.) pitched the first five innings for Pacific and took the loss to fall to 7-3.

Freshmen Lauren Sandelin (Sedro-Woolley, Wash.) and Lindsey Garehime (Redwood City, Calif.) picked up the Tigers' lone base hits of the game with a single each.

Pacific is next in action at the Pacific Mini Tournament on Wednesday, Mar. 16, at Bill Simoni Field. The one-day event will also feature Iowa and Rhode Island.
