Lady Indians Battle in Extra Innings

BIRMINGHAM- It took extra innings but the Louisiana-Monroe softball team came up short against Birmingham-Southern 5-4 in the second game of the Panther Spring Classic at Birmingham Southern.

The Lady Indians struck first as they broke the 0-0 tie in the fifth inning. Designated Hitter Heather Williams doubled to spark ULM to a 3 run inning.

ULM pitcher Danielle Lahr only gave up three earned runs as she hurled a complete game, but it was her last pitch that brought that game to an end. Lacey Barth doubled scoring the tying and winning runs in the bottom the eighth inning bring a close to day one at the Panther Spring Classic.

Tomorrow morning ULM will play Chattanooga and Tulsa. ULM played Tulsa twice last weekend, and split the two games.
