Boston College Heads To Florida State For NCAA Tournament Third Round Action

BC and FSU will meet on Saturday, November 22 at 2 p.m.

Chestnut Hill, MA - The Boston College women's soccer team will travel to Tallahassee, Florida to take on the Florida State Seminoles in third round action of the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship at the Seminole Soccer Complex on Saturday, November 22 at 2:00 p.m. Boston College lost to the Seminoles 1-0 in regular season ACC action on October 5 in a game played at the Newton Soccer Field in Chestnut Hill, Mass.

Boston College (15-5-2) hosted the first and second round matches on Nov. 14 and 16. The Eagles defeated Central Connecticut State (3-0) and Northeastern (4-0). Sophomore Amy Caldwell had a great weekend as she notched three assists in two games, while freshman Stephanie Wirth had a goal in each game. Sophomore defender Hannah Cerrone also notched four points with a goal and two assists in Sunday's win over Northeastern.

FSU (16-2-3) also posted two shutouts with a 7-0 win over Mississippi Valley State and a 1-0 victory against Auburn.

The match on Saturday will be the second time BC and Florida State have played in the NCAA Tournament. In 2004, Boston College advanced in a shootout victory over FSU (0-0, 3-1 PK's).

Tickets for Saturday's third round action are now on sale at the FSU Ticket Office or by calling 888-FSU-NOLE. Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for youth ages 18 and under, seniors ages 50 and older and FSU and BC students with proper ID. Children ages 2 and under will be admitted free of charge.
