COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The 13th-ranked Texas A&M soccer team hosts No. 22 Washington in the second round of the NCAA Division I Championship on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the Aggie Soccer Stadium.

The No. 3-seeded Aggies (16-4-1) and the Huskies (15-5-1) fight to move on to the Sweet Sixteen to face the winner of the UCF-Florida match.

In its 14-consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament, A&M downed Texas State, 5-2, on Friday and was ahead 4-0 before the Bobcats netted their first goal late in the game. Five different Aggies scored, including first career goals by freshmen Becca Herrera and Carly Wohlers. A&M dominated possession and held the advantage in shots (28-5) and corner kicks (2-0).

UW enjoyed a 3-2, come-from-behind overtime victory over No. 14 LSU in the first round. Down 2-0, the Huskies scored two goals in the final 30 minutes to send the match into overtime and senior Jenna Robison scored the golden goal in the 94th minute.

The two teams kickoff for the fourth time, with the Aggies coming out victorious in the previous three meetings. In 2001 A&M shutout Washington, 1-0. The following season the Aggies defeated UW, 2-1, in overtime. The final match was in 2005, with a 6-0 A&M win. The two teams have never faced each other in the postseason.

The Aggies go into Sunday well rested, as the entire team saw action in Friday's win. Sophomore Rachel Shipley scored her fifth goal and added her ninth assist and continues to lead the team with 19 points.

Washington enters the contest riding a seven-game unbeaten streak and is led by Veronica Perez with 31 points. Perez boasts team highs with 13 goals and five assists.
