Van Der Henst named First Team All-Conference; seven named All-Academic

Van Der Henst is now a three-year All-Conference player

Atlanta, Ga. - In the year-end women's soccer awards announced today at the Southern States Athletic Conference, Shorter College Lady Hawk Pauline Van Der Henst was named First Team All-Conference. Additionally, seven Shorter played were named to the conference's All-Academic team.

Van Der Henst played in 17 games for Shorter this season, tallying a team-leading 12 goals and four assists. She had 32 shots on goal.

Last year, Van Der Henst was named All-Conference Second Team, and in 2006 was named to the first team. She is the only current Lady Hawk to be recognized on each All-Conference team, each year she has played.

The players named All-Academic are Mallory Barnes, Randi Brown, Renee Glenfield, Jessica Hoskinson, Sarah Locklear, Lynde Pas, and Racine Romain.

The Lady Hawks finished the season 9-9-1 overall and 6-3-1 in the SSAC, good for fourth place. They advanced to the conference tournament semi-finals with a 3-2 win over Reinhardt College.
