Pace has hold on Miami saves record

Sophomore has already surpassed previous career marks

OXFORD, Ohio - The RedHawks goalkeeper Krista Pace already holds the record for the most saves in Miami soccer history. The sophomore out of Toronto, Ontario has stood solid in goal for the RedHawks and has notched 116 saves on the year, 20 more than the previous record holders.

In her second season with the RedHawks, Pace has played all 17 games in goal. She has also recorded three shutouts on the year and was part of another combined shutout. Her first blanking of the season came against Xavier when she tallied eight saves. Pace continued to shutout Western Michigan and Northern Illinois totaling six career saves. In her game against Northern Illinois Pace played all 90 minutes and tallied ten saves.

As a freshman in 2006 Pace clinched a career high and Miami MAC Tournament record with 11 saves against Ball State in the MAC quarterfinals. Also in her first year, Pace was named to the Soccer America National Team of the Week.

Pace surpassed the saves records set previously by Katie Karlander (2001) and Laura Degelleke (2000) who shared the record at 86 stops in their respective careers.
