WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Cincinnati's Carlye Hamilton is the latest addition to the 2008 Boilermakers' roster. Hamilton, one of two goalkeepers recruited for this coming season, is currently a senior at Anderson High School.
Hamilton played three years of varsity soccer at Anderson, where she was a two-time team MVP. She was sidelined by a thumb injury her freshman year and was sent to play junior varsity soccer. Hamilton responded by leading the JV club in scoring.
Hamilton did not miss a beat her sophomore season as she returned to her rightful place between the pipes. Her first-year stats included six shutouts through 17 matches and a 0.94 goals-against average. Hamilton received her first of three all-conference first team citations as well as an all-city honorable mention certificate.
The honor roll student continued to improve her junior year, compiling a city-best 12 shutouts and a 0.58 GAA. Her team won its first Fort Ancient Valley Conference Division I title in 18 years as she was named first team all-conference and city. She also received her first all-state accolade, being named to its third team.
The two-year team captain led Anderson to a second FAVC Division I title in 2007 behind her eight shutouts and a 0.79 GAA. Hamilton kept her place on the all-city and conference first teams but was promoted to the all-state second team.
Hamilton has played for Cincinnati Classics Hammer F.C. for close to a decade and won four State Cup Championships with them in 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2006. In 2005, Hamilton and her Hammer F.C. teammates reached the regional semifinals.
An accomplished senior leader at Anderson, Hamilton takes part in activites with both the National and German National Honor Societies. She is a recognized member of the National Society of High School Scholars.
Hamilton intends to study pre-med at Purdue and has plans to become a doctor.
