BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's third annual 5v5 soccer concluded on Sunday evening with 30 teams from Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties being crowned champions. The men and women's soccer fundraising event drew its largest participation ever as 190 different teams participated in 31 different divisions.
Over 60 teams participated from Boca Raton alone, with Boca club teams taking home seven titles. Broward County took home the most titles with 14, while Palm Beach County accounted for 13 titles and Miami-Dade two. The Lending House, a Boca Raton based corporation that sponsors the event, took home championship honors in the men's open division while Miami-based Soccer Locker was crowned the women's open division champion.
Student Athletes from both the men and women's soccer programs were involved in all facets of the tournament, from cooking hamburgers and hotdogs to registering teams to refereeing over 100 matches in two days.
