CHAPEL HILL -- The University of North Carolina women's lacrosse team has signed seven student-athletes to National Letters of Intent for the 2007 season, head coach Jenny Levy announced on Tuesday. The seven will enroll at Carolina and join the women's lacrosse program in the fall of 2006.
The group includes three Maryland products and a Virginia native who attends school in Maryland. It also includes student-athletes from New Jersey, Massachusetts and New York. The seven signees are Jen Becker (Baltimore, Md.), Megan Bosica (Ellicott City, Md.), Kristen Carr (Baltimore, Md.), Ali Hill (Mt. Laurel, N.J.), Dana McCreary (Reston, Va.), Jenn Russell (Andover, Mass.) and Kristen Taylor (Manlius, N.Y.).
"We're extremely pleased to announce our signed class that will enroll at Carolina next fall," Levy said on Tuesday. "We think this group has a great combination of athleticism, talent and competitive drive. It's a good group in the classroom as well, which is always a priority for us.
"We feel each of these student-athletes will fit in well with the character and mentality of our team. This class is a nice blend of talent on the defensive end, in the midfield and on the offensive end. We're excited about this class and the future of our program."
