Garden City, N.Y. - Adelphi University Head Women's Lacrosse Coach, Joe Spallina announced the addition of Krista Pellizzi to the coaching staff. Pellizzi will act as the team's offensive coordinator and will also assist in the recruiting process.
"With the hiring of Krista Pellizzi our offense has already dramatically improved," Spallina stated. "Krista has an unbelievable playing career at the University of Maryland and I am extremely excited to see her work with our many talented offensive players."
A 2007 graduate of the University of Maryland, Pellizzi was a four-year letter winner for the Terrapins and a two-time IWLCA/US Lacrosse All-American. She was also a two-time IWLCA/US Lacrosse All-South selection and two-time All-Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) honoree, while netting 121 goals and handing out 54 assists in a Maryland uniform.
In four years at Maryland Pellizzi helped the Terrapins to four NCAA Division I tournament berths, including National Quarterfinal appearances in 2004-2007. A high school All-American at Farmingdale High School, Pellizzi was also a member of the US under-19 world team and scored 406 career goals, in high school.
