UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Lexie Marrocco led the Spiders with two goals and an assist for a total of three points as Richmond fell to Oregon, 17-5. Jules Nicola, Anne Ryan and Allison Furstenburg each added a goal for the Spiders. Oregon converted 17 of its 29 shots of the game. Ilsa van den Berg led the Ducks with 4 goals while Alex Breiner and Theresa Waldron both recorded hat tricks for Oregon.

Richmond started of scoring for the day with a quick goal from Jules Nicola off a helper from Mandy Friend, just two minutes into the game. Friend finished the game with two assists.

The Ducks (3-1) then scored five unanswered goals. The Spiders did not get on the scoreboard again until over halfway through the first half of play. With 11:33 to go, Lexie Marrocco found an open Allison Furstenburg cutting around the crease for the goal to give Richmond its second notch of the game.

The Spiders came out in the second half with more energy and were able to get the first draw control. Friend got the draw control, took it straight down towards the goal where she found Marrocco wide open in the eight-meter. Marrocco finished the goal for her first goal of the game, just 24 seconds into the second half.



Oregon answered back six minutes later with an unassisted goal from Theresa Waldron. The Ducks scored three more goals before the Spiders put in their fourth goal of the day.

The No. 18 Spiders are now 1-2 in the 2008 season. Richmond will host in-state rival, No. 2 Virginia Wednesday February 27 for a 3 p.m. ET start time.
