Spiders In Fifth Place After Round One Of Towson Invite

ST. MICHAEL'S, Md. - Sophomore Christina Gray is in sixth place and the Richmond women's golf team is in fifth after the first round of the season-opening Towson Women's Invitational, played Monday at Harbourtowne Country Club.

The Spiders shot a 321 which is four strokes out of a third-place tie with Towson and Old Dominion and seven shots behind second-place UAB. Longwood is in first place with a 306.

Gray shot a 6-over-par 76 in the opening round Monday, which puts her five shots off the lead, four shots out of second place and one stroke back of third.

Richmond junior Lauren Folgosa is tied for seventh after shooting a 77 on Monday on the par-70, 5,975-yard course. Junior Anne Sprick is tied for 20th with an 82, while sophomore Jillian Fraccola and senior Rosario Germino are tied for 29th with 86s.

Richmond junior Victoria Kidder is tied for 20th at 82 playing as an individual.

The second and final round of the Towson Women's Invitational will be played on Tuesday.
