For the second straight day, play was suspended due to weather at Pine Needles in North Carolina for the 2007 Women's U.S. Open.  With most players not finishing second round play, action is set to get back underway very early on Saturday morning.

Jennie Lee, So., Duke

Maybe it wasn't the worst thing in the world that Jennie Lee didn't get to play at all on Friday.  Lee moved up the board without taking a swing, going from a tie for 12th up to a tie for 8th.  Lee is scheduled to tee off her second round at 9:09am on Saturday, as she is currently even-par after shooting a 71 on Thursday.  Lee leads all collegians in the event.

Amanda Blumenherst, So., Duke

She was at even-par through 14 holes when play was suspended on Thursday, but after finishing the first round just one over par, Amanda Blumenherst struggled in her final 18 holes of the day.  Blumenherst fired a five-over 76 to finish the first two rounds plus-six overall.  Jennie Lee's classmate is in a tie for 81st.

Paola Moreno, Jr., USC

After a rough opening day in North Carolina, things didn't get all that much better for Moreno.  She finished up the first round, plus-10, but she did settle in a bit in the second round, as through 12 holes (before suspended play), the USC product is just plus-1.  With six holes to play in round two, she sits tied for 130 on the leaderboard at plus-11.

Taryn Durham, Jr., Middle Tennessee State

Finishing six-over par in the first round wasn't so bad, but after play was suspended on Friday, Durham was ten-over just in the second round through 12 holes.  At plus-16, Durham is currently in 151st place and will resume play on Saturday at the 13th hole.

Stacy Lewis, Jr., Arkansas

Lewis can thank Mother Nature for not getting to even start her second round on Friday.  The NCAA National Champion currently sits tied for 89th place after a seven-over 78 in the first round.  Lewis is set to tee off at 9:09am on Saturday with fellow collegiate Jennie Lee.

Marci Turner, Jr., Tennessee

Turner was finally able to finish her first round on Friday, and finished four-over par.  After getting through only eight holes on Thursday, she got through eleven holes of the second round before play was called off, and is now seven-over par overall and is tied for 89th place.

Selanee Henderson, Jr., UC Irvine

Henderson shot an eleven-over 82 on Thursday in the first round, and she probably could have used a day off to try and figure things out.  She got just that.  Henderson will play her second round on Saturday, teeing off at 9:31am.  Plus, she moves out of last place among collegians and amateurs without even playing as Henderson is now tied for 130th place.

Sydnee Michaels, Fr., UCLA

UCLA's freshman, Sydnee Michaels, had a pretty good second day, playing 26 holes of golf in the process.  She finished seven-over for the first round, but played much better getting through 13 holes of the second round before play was suspended.  Michaels racked up seven pars and two birdies to finish three-over in the second round.  She'll pick up where she left off on Saturday at the 14th hole, tied for 120th place.

Maria Jose Uribe, Incoming Freshman, UCLA

Another UCLA product, Uribe was one of only a few golfers to actually get in her whole second round.  Uribe completed a three-over par round, and is now plus-10 through 36 holes of golf.  Uribe's only birdie of the round came on the par-3 third hole.  She is tied with her new Bruins teammate, Sydnee Michaels, in 120th place.

Joanne Lee, Incoming Freshman, USC

Lee was a plus-four on Thursday in the first round, but got the day off on Friday as her second round never got underway.  Lee will now be up bright and early for her 7:41am tee time on Saturday to complete her second round. The future Trojan moved from 95th place up to 54th without taking a shot.  Not a bad day.
