Stockton, Calif. - Junior Lisa Muhl's (Harleysville, Pa.) outstanding defensive play in two road contests against Kent State and Lock Haven last week earned the defender NorPac Defensive Player of the Week honors.

In just four games on the young season, Muhl leads all Tigers with three of the squad's five defensive saves. All three saves came in the 2-1 loss to Kent State.

Though it did not reflect in the win column, that game was one of Pacific's best defensive games up until that point. Kent outshot Pacific 9-3 in the first half, but only managed to connect with one goal in that period. Two of those stops were solely a result of Muhl's craftsmanship with her stick near the goal. At the half, Muhl helped the Tigers keep only a one-point deficit.

She notched a third and final defensive save in the second half, but Kent State increased its lead and the Tigers eventually fell 2-1 by the end of the game.

Lisa and the Tigers next return to action this weekend when they take on Iowa at Stanford on Sept. 14 at 11 a.m.
