Kent, OH - Junior Katy McDonough (Ventura, Calif.) recorded her first goal and first assist of the 2008 season to lead Pacific to a 3-0 shutout victory over Robert Morris on Monday, Sept. 8.

The victory moved the Tigers to 1-3 on the season, while Robert Morris fell to 3-2 overall.

Pacific got on the board first with just under 10 minutes remaining in the first half as McDonough blasted a rebound past Robert Morris goalkeeper Stephanie Seeley to give the Tigers their first lead of 2008.

Just over three minutes later, junior Kim Keyawa (Chico, Calif.) picked up her second goal in as many games to push the Tigers' lead to 2-0. Keyawa redirected a pass from freshman Amanda Spellman (Gilroy, Calif.) at the 27:11 mark.

The breathing room provided by the Tigers' offense, reinvigorated the Pacific defense. The swarming Pacific defense limited Robert Morris to only two shots in the first half and did not allow a penalty corner.

Pacific's defense got even better in the second period, allowing just one shot and completing the contest without allowing a penalty corner.

The Tigers put the game away with a third goal with 1:59 remaining as senior Ashley Niccum (Simi Valley, Calif.) blasted a pass from McDonough into the back of the net for her second goal of the season.

The Tigers return to action on Sunday, Sept. 14 as Pacific hosts Iowa in a neutral site contest at Stanford, Calif. The game will begin at 11 a.m.
