Schone Named MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week
Senior totaled 34 points in 74 minutes in two wins last week

OXFORD, Ohio - Miami University's Jenna Schone (women's basketball) was named the MAC Female Scholar Athlete of the Week on December 13, 2007 by the conference office in Cleveland.
Schone (point guard, Sr., 3.45, health education, Pickerington, Ohio) totaled 34 points in two games, both wins, against Robert Morris and Youngstown State. On the week, she also had 13 assists and turned the ball over just three times in 74 minutes of play at the point. She scored 17 points in both games, while hitting five three pointers. Her assist-to-turnover ratio for the week was 4.3-to-1. The RedHawks downed RMU 82-74 and won at YSU 64-45 on Saturday to improve to 6-3 on the season.
The MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week honor is presented to a MAC male and female student-athlete who has a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and performs well during that week's competition. The winners are selected by a group of the conference's faculty athletic representatives.
The RedHawks next host Illinois State on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Millett Hall.
