BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana head women's basketball coach Felisha Legette-Jack has announced the addition of two more recruits who have signed National Letters of Intent to join the Hoosier squad for the 2009-10 season.

Jasmine Davis, a 6-2 forward from Metropolis, Ill., averaged 14 points and 11 rebounds per game her junior season at Massac County High School to earn The Southern's Female Basketball Player of the Year. Since Davis' freshman season at Massac County, the Lady Patriots have a 75-17 record, including a trip to the state tournament as well as two super-sectional games. She also owns Massac County's single-season and career rebounds records.

Davis was a third team all-stater and an All-South MVP last season. She was also named the Carbondale Tournament Most Valuable Player. Academically, Davis is among the top five in her class.

"We are so excited to have Jasmine become a member of our program," Legette-Jack said. "She reminds us a lot of a young lady that starts for us in Amber Jackson. Her tenacity on the boards and her ability to be able to face-up and put the ball on the floor will be an added advantage for us. She's a fantastic student and is a kid that has not received a B in her entire high school career, so that's going to help us academically. I think her character is unbelievable as well. Jasmine definitely meets our character, academics and basketball standard."

Hope Elam, a 6-1 forward from Champaign, Ill., averaged 22.6 points and 13 rebounds per game in 2006-07 ending her high school career with 1,523 points. She set single-season records for points (656) and rebounds (373) and had 28 double-doubles. Elam, a three-time all-conference and two-time all-area honoree, earned third team all-state accolades as a senior and was a named one of 16 Illinois Miss Basketball Award finalists.

Elam is currently playing at Vincennes University where in her first three games she averaged 31.3 points and 12.7 rebounds per game. Most recently, Elam tallied 25 points, 18 boards, one assist and one steal against Lincoln Trail on Nov. 18.

"Hope Elam - what a blessing it is to have her caliber of athleticism join our program," Legette-Jack added. "She is a player that transferred from Saint Louis and is now at Vincennes. She has been working on a lot of things that she needs to work on, but she is a player that can put up a lot points in a hurry for us. She reminds us a lot of a great player on our team in Whitney Thomas. Her tenacity of purpose is tremendous on the boards and for her to be able to hit that 3-point shot and put the ball on the floor is going to help give us a little more flexibility in our offense. We certainly excited about her, and her character, academics and basketball are all tremendous.

"We feel like we have a great group of four student-athletes that have committed to us in the early signing period."

Legette-Jack also inked two NLI's last week, signing Aulani Sinclair (6-1 forward) from Indiana's Eminence High School and Sasha Bernard (5-6 point guard) from Delray Beach Atlantic High School in Florida.
