Head Coach Cindy Stein and the Tigers will face 15 different teams that qualified for postseason play last year

2008-09 Missouri Women's Basketball Schedule
COLUMBIA, Mo. – A total of 16 home contests at Mizzou Arena and games with 15 opponents that reached postseason play last season highlight the Missouri women's basketball team's 2008-09 schedule, released Thursday by Head Coach Cindy Stein.
The slate features games contests with eight NCAA Tournament teams and seven schools that competed in the Women’s National Invitation Tournament a year ago. Overall, 20 of Mizzou’s 29 regular season contests come against teams that reached the postseason in 2007-08.
The Tigers first hit the court on Friday, Nov. 7 in an exhibition game against Southwest Baptist at Mizzou Arena before officially opening the 2008-09 season in a home contest with South Dakota State on Friday, Nov. 14 at 6:30 p.m.
Following a trip to Champaign, Ill., to take on Illinois on Wednesday, Nov. 19, Mizzou returns to Mizzou Arena to host Western Illinois and Indiana on Saturday, Nov. 22 and Tuesday, Nov. 25, respectively.
On Nov. 29-30, Missouri will compete in Northwestern’s Mildred and Roger L. White Invitational in Evanston, Ill. The squad tips-off play with a contest against Holy Cross on Saturday, Nov. 29 at 12 p.m. before facing host Northwestern at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 30.
Three home games against Toledo (Dec. 3), Bradley (Dec. 9) and Tennessee-Martin (Dec. 14) open the December portion of the schedule before the Tigers head down to Fayetteville, Ark., to face Arkansas on Sunday, Dec. 21 at 2 p.m.
After a short break, Mizzou continues play on Monday, Dec. 29 against in-state foe SEMO at Mizzou Arena before traveling to Pittsburgh, Pa., for a contest with Duquesne on Saturday, Jan. 3. Mizzou closes out its non-conference slate at home against Chicago State on Jan. 6.

Under the traditional Big 12 Conference scheduling format, the Tigers play home-and-home series against each of the North Division teams – including NCAA Tournament participants Iowa State, Kansas State and Nebraska – while playing each South Division member just once. Mizzou travels to Oklahoma (Jan. 31), Baylor (Feb. 14) and Texas Tech (March 7) and hosts Texas A&M (Jan. 12), Oklahoma State (Jan. 28) and Texas (Feb. 24).
