Women's Basketball Players Take Home Show-Me State Games Championship

Seven current and former Tigers played in the games

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Seven current and former Missouri women's basketball players took home the championship in the women's competitive 19 and over division at the Show-Me State Games on Sunday, Aug. 3. Named "Unleashed," the team won all seven of its games in the games.

Current players Jessra Johnson (Fayette, Mo. / Fayette HS) and Shakara Jones (St. Charles, Mo. / Francis Howell Central HS) were joined on the team by incoming freshmen Kendra Frazier (Altamont, Kan. / Labette County HS) and Bailey Gee (Andover, Kan. / Andover Central HS) and former Tigers Marchele Campbell, EeTisha Riddle and Carlynn Savant.

Unleashed began play with a 70-40 win on Friday, Aug. 1 and picked up two more wins, 65-56 and 61-34 in group play on Saturday, Aug. 2. The team also earned a 66-16 win in the first round of single-elimination play on Saturday night, advancing the quarterfinals on Sunday. Unleashed used a pair of 10-point victories, 49-39 and 61-51 in quarterfinal and semifinal action before claiming the title with a 65-59 win in the championship game on Sunday.
