Feaster Named WNBA All-Star

Former Crimson standout Allison Feaster '98 has been selected by the WNBA's 13 head coaches as a reserve on the league's All-Star team it was recently announced. Feaster will play on a squad that will face the US National team in its final tune up before heading to Athens for the Olympic Games. During the Games, the WNBA season will be on hold as its marquee players vie for gold. The game, being dubbed as "WNBA vs. the USA All-Stars: The Game at Radio City Music Hall" will be played on Thursday, August 5th, and will be aired live on ESPN at 7 p.m. Feaster, who plays for the Charlotte Sting, has started 23 of 24 games this season and is averaging 11.7 points and ranks eighth in the league in free throw percentage. She was named runner-up in the WNBA Most Improved Player Award balloting in 2001 after her scoring average jumped from 6.3 ppg in 2000 to 11.4 in 2001. She has averaged 9.6 points and 3.1 rebounds in her 189 game, seven-year career. In 2002, Feaster set franchise records with a three-pointer made in 12 consecutive and consecutive free throws made (39). Named to the 1997-98 Kodak All-America team after leading the nation in scoring average (28.5) and averaging 10.8 rebounds, the 5-foot-11 South Carolina native, remains Harvard's all-time leading scorer with 2,312 points.
