Second Edition of Student Athlete Roundtable Podcast Premieres

Guests include Jake Robinson, Lauren Ross and Emily Clarke

CULLOWHEE, N.C. - The second edition of the Catamount Tracks Student-Athlete Roundtable premieres today at the Catamount Tracks Podcast. Lady Catamount basketball players Heather Swayne and Jessica Jackson entertain their first guests of the series welcoming men's basketball player Jake Robinson, softball player Lauren Ross and women's basketball teammate Emily Clarke.

Robinson, a 6-8 forward, a rising junior from nearby Canton, N.C., played in all 31 games for the Catamounts in the 2007-08 season, scoring in double figures 18 times, leading the team in scoring six times including four-straight to conclude the season. He was ranked 24th in the Southern Conference averaging 10.6 points per game and is currently ranked eighth in the Catamount record books for three-pointers made in a career with 134.

Ross, who is from Hope Mills, N.C., begins her final season with the Catamount softball team in 2009. In her junior campaign she broke the school record for homeruns (27) and RBI (84) in a career and also tossed the second no-hitter of her career in a five-inning game with College of Charleston on her 21st birthday. Ross was named Southern Conference Player of the Week in 2008, her second player of the week honor of her career and also has a pitcher of the week honor. She was the pitcher of record in all seven of the Catamount's conference wins and at the plate broke her single-game record for RBI with seven against Winston-Salem State in the final regular season game of the year.

Clarke, a 5-10 guard/forward, had a phenomenal freshman campaign. The Snellville, Ga. native was voted to both the SCSMA All-Freshman Team and the 2008 Southern Conference All-Freshman Team. She was also named to the 2008 Southern Conference Tournament Second Team after averaging 10.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game in the tournament. In her final game of the year, Clarke scored a career-high 18 points against Middle Tennessee in the first round of the WNIT Tournament.
