BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Samford University has hired Amber Deline as an assistant women's basketball coach, Head Coach Mike Morris announced on Thursday.
"We are very excited to have Amber join our basketball family," Morris said. "Having known her for several years, I believe she will be an outstanding asset for our basketball team."
Deline comes to Samford after serving as an assistant coach at the University of Montevallo since August of 2003. At Montevallo, Deline was involved in all aspects of the women's basketball program, including on-floor coaching, recruiting and scheduling.
Deline also served as the faculty representative for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee at Montevallo.
The hiring of Deline completes Morris' staff, along with assistant coaches Latrice McLin and Clarissa Tomlinson.
"I am thankful for my staff," Morris said. "I believe they represent Samford University in the right way."
Deline is a 2003 graduate of the University of North Alabama with a B.S. degree in health, physical education and recreation. She is scheduled to finish her Master's of Education degree from Montevallo this fall.
