BEVERLY, Mass. - Endicott College Director of Athletics Brian Wylie has announced the resignation of head women's basketball coach Jennifer Lucey effective May 16, 2008. In five years at the helm of the program, Lucey compiled a historical-high in wins, as she will close out her tenure at 87-54 overall (62-17 TCCC).

Lucey, a recipient of the 2004-2005 TCCC Coach of the Year award, helped transform a perennial .500 program into one of the most competitive teams in the region. After going 13-13 in her first year, Lucey's squads have posted at least 18 wins in each of the last four seasons.

"This has been a very rewarding experience for me," said Lucey. "I am grateful to Endicott for giving me the opportunity to coach the women's basketball program. I will miss working with my players and co-workers and being a part of Endicott's future success. It is hard for me to walk away from coaching at this point, but I am excited to explore new opportunities and to focus on other passions in my life, including my family."

This past year, Lucey guided the Gulls to a 19-10 overall record and a regular season conference title with a 12-1 mark in TCCC play. Along with her team success, Lucey has coached four players to all-conference honors over the past five seasons.

"Under coach Lucey's leadership, we have seen a tremendous transformation in the women's basketball program," said Wylie. We are grateful for the foundation that coach Lucey has built, and are excited for the continued growth of young talent that will lead this program towards a championship banner next year."
