Aztec Basketball Head Coach Beth Burns Tabbed For YWCA Award

Burns to be recognized at 29th Annual TWIN Awards Luncheon in June


Aztec head coach Beth Burns will be honored at the YWCA's 29th Annual TWIN Awards Luncheon on June 27.

SAN DIEGO - Aztec women's basketball head coach Beth Burns has been selected to receive the YWCA's Tribute to Women and Industry (TWIN) award for her outstanding achievements, leadership and contributions to her profession. The honor is given out annually in San Diego County to women in executive, professional and managerial positions.

Burns will receive her award at the 29th Annual TWIN Awards Luncheon on Friday, June 27, at the San Diego Convention Center. Since 1980, almost 2,400 businesswomen have been honored with the event raising more than $1.8 million to support YWCA programs.

The YWCA of San Diego County, which was founded in 1907, provides women and families with shelter and services they need to escape homelessness and domestic violence. The organization strives to increase the status of women, girls and families, while promoting economic justice. The YWCA is a worldwide organization with nearly 300 associations at over 1,300 sites in the United States alone.
