St. John's Women's Coach Suspends Six Players Before UConn Game

Kia Wright, Nikki Jo Rotolo, Charisse Curtis, Kristin Moore, Sheree Ledbetter and Recee Mitchell won't play

STORRS, Conn. (AP) - St. John's coach Kim Barnes has suspended six players ahead of the game against No. 1 Connecticut.

Kia Wright, Nikki Jo Rotolo, Charisse Curtis, Kristin Moore, Sheree Ledbetter and Recee Mitchell won't play. But they will be allowed to dress for the game against the Huskies.

Barnes says the six violated a team policy, but would not elaborate.

Wright is the team's second-leading scorer, averaging 12.5 points.
