LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Angel McCoughtry scored 21 points, 17 in the second half, and No. 23 Louisville beat St. John's 91-62 Tuesday night.
Louisville (23-5, 9-5 Big East) trailed 41-40 early in the second half, but outscored the Red Storm 30-12 to lead 71-52 with 7:56 remaining. McCoughtry had eight points during the run and Helen Johnson seven.
Monique McLean scored 17 points for the Red Storm (8-17, 4-10), who lost for the fifth time in six games. Kia Wright added 14 points, Tiina Sten 11, and Joy McCorvey had 10 points and 12 rebounds.
McCoughtry was 8-for-15 from the field and had 14 rebounds. Johnson came off the bench to score 21 points on 7-of-14 shooting from the field, including 4-for-8 from 3-point range. Jazz Covington added 17 points, and Toni Slaughter 10.
Louisville forced the Red Storm into 23 turnovers, converting those into 28 points.
