Preview: After two consecutive weeks of tough competition on the road, UC Davis gets a much-needed home dual this weekend, facing the Roadrunners of Cal State Bakersfield.

However, for the Aggies to see success against the 'Runners, they will have to overcome some history and outwrestle a tough team. Bakersfield has wrestled UC Davis 10 times, and the Roadrunners hold a commanding 9-1 overall series lead.

The 'Runners come into the match with three wrestlers ranked in the top 25 of their weight class: No. 17 Tommy Vargas (133 pounds), No. 18 Anthony Baza (149 pounds) and No. 18 Christian Arellano (174 pounds). However, Arellano may not wrestle against the Aggies due to injury.

On the other hand, UC Davis junior Derek Moore, ranked No. 7 in the 133-pound weight class, is scheduled to return from an injury after missing last week's Virginia Duals. One hundred fifty-seven-pound sophomore Jon Clark's strong performance last weekend has earned him a spot in Saturday's lineup.

Aggie seniors Ken Cook, ranked No. 10, and Frank Richmond are also coming off strong performances the past two weekends, and will need to continue their success for the Aggies to beat the Roadrunners.
