GREENSBORO, N.C. - Four North Carolina wrestlers have earned the No. 3 seeds in their respective weight classes at UNC Greensboro's Southern Scuffle, set for Friday and Saturday at the Greensboro Coliseum's Special Events Center. Keegan Mueller (165), Spencer Nadolsky (heavyweight), Vincent Ramirez (141) and Evan Sola (133) were each seeded third, while Drew Forshey claimed the No. 7 seed at 125 pounds to give the Tar Heels five seeded entries.
Carolina will be in action for the first time since the Dec. 3 Nittany Lion Open, while Sola will be wrestling for the first time in over a year. The two-time All-America redshirted last season following a shoulder injury.
Mueller, who owns a pair of top-three finishes on the year, leads the Tar Heels with a 13-2 overall record. Nadolsky is 8-2, while Ramirez is 5-2 on the young season. Ranked ninth nationally at heavyweight, Nadolsky is one of three Tar Heels in the Dec. 19 InterMat rankings. Mueller and Ramirez are both rated No. 13.
Others scheduled to wrestle for Carolina this weekend include: Keenan Duffie (149), Ben Fiacco (157), Jake Forestiere (157), Alex Maciag (174), Daniel Llamas (184), Robert McCarthy (184) and Dennis Drury (197).
