CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Illinois head coach Mark Johnson and his teammates from the 1980 United States Olympic wrestling team will be honored at the 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials in Las Vegas, June 13-15. That year, the U.S. team boycotted the Olympics, meaning that those athletes sacrificed their dreams of competing on the world's biggest stage.

"This is a nice honor by USA Wrestling and the U.S. Olympic Committee," Johnson said. "I'm looking forward to watching this year's Olympic trials with my former teammates."

The U.S. Olympic trials will commence June 13 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas with men's freestyle and Greco-Roman competitions and women's freestyle.
