The Harvard men's volleyball team was defeated by #2 Springfield College, 3-2, (30-27, 28-30, 30-32, 30-23, 7-15) on Wednesday night at Blake Arena. The Crimson are now 6-5 (3-4 EIVA Hay) and the Pride are 16-6 (11-0 EIVA Hay). Earlier this month Springfield blanked the Crimson, 3-0.
Five Harvard players were in double digits in kills. Sophomore outside hitter Will Reppun led the way with 22. Senior setter Mike Bookman was credited with a match-high 58 assists.
Springfield sophomore outside hitter Brandon Mueller compiled a match-high 24 kills and had a .457 hitting percentage. Senior outside hitter Greg Lardo totaled 23 kills and nine digs, as the Pride won its ninth straight match and remained undefeated in EIVA Hay Division play.
The Crimson will be in action again on Saturday, March 15 as it takes on East Stroudsberg at the Malkin Athletic Center. It will then host Queens College on Sunday, March 16. Both games start at 2 p.m.
