Lukacs No. 2 in Men's Tennis Preseason Rankings

Four Bears appear on preseason rankings list.

WACO, Texas - Baylor's men's tennis team landed four student-athletes on the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) preseason poll the organization announced on Monday. The rankings include the nation's top 125 singles players and 60 doubles teams.

Junior Denes Lukacs (Eger, Hungary) leads the Baylor contingent with a No. 2 ranking becoming the second-highest ranked player in the preseason poll in program history. Former Bear and current professional Benedikt Dorsch, currently ranked No. 175 on the ATP tour, was ranked No. 1 entering the 2003-04 season. Other former Bears ranked among the top 10 in the ITA's preseason poll include Lars Poerschke (No. 3, 2006-07) and Benjamin Becker (No. 5, 2002-03). Lukacs completed his sophomore season with a team-best 47-10 singles record and a No. 6 final ranking.

Three other Bears are also ranked among the nation's top 125 singles players. Junior Dominik Mueller (Frankfurt, Germany) was the second-highest ranked Baylor player, checking in at No. 44, sophomore Jordan Rux (Kerrville, Texas) is listed at No. 86 and junior Attila Bucko (Wellington, Fla.) is No. 100, marking his first-ever singles ranking.

Baylor landed one doubles tandem on the rankings list as Rux and Bucko are listed at No. 32.
