CHARLOTTESVILLE - Former Virginia men's tennis player Brian Vahaly was featured in this week's People magazine as the publication named its annual list of the most eligible bachelors. Vahaly, a 2001 graduate of the University and a three time All-American with the Cavaliers, is currently ranked No. 81 in the world on the ATP tour.

Vahaly, who has been ranked as high as No. 64 in the world this year, is currently the only college graduate ranked in the top 100 of the ATP rankings. Earlier this season, he reached the quarterfinals at Indian Wells, defeating the No. 3 player in the world Juan Carlos Ferrero in the second round.

Next week, Vahaly begins play at Wimbledon, where he drew Filippo Volandri in the first round. Vahaly has appeared in the previous two major championships this year, falling to Andre Agassi in the first round of the Australian Open and Lleyton Hewitt in the first round of the French Open.
