Toledo, OH - The Toledo men's tennis program is holding a Tennis Block Party on Friday, June 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The event is free for children, ages 6-18 of all playing levels, and will include prizes and tennis instruction. The Block Party is a sign-up day for the free Howard Haynes Tennis Academy for children in the community, which is funded through grants by the United States Tennis Association (USTA) and Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). The Tennis Academy will be held at the UT Varsity Tennis Facility and begins on Monday, June 25.
"UT Athletics and our tennis programs want to continue our services and connection with the community," said Men's Tennis Coach Al Wermer. "I expect this event and our summer programs to continue improving and growing since our first season last year.
