Palguta Named to Men's Soccer All-Ivy Second Team

Nov. 16, 2004

ITHACA, N.Y. - It was announced today by the Ivy League offices that Cornell senior defenseman Scott Palguta (Forked River, N.J.) has been given All-Ivy honors, being named to the second team. It is the second All-Ivy selection for Palguta, who was an honorable mention selection following his freshman season.

Palguta has been a mainstay in the Cornell lineup since his debut in 2001, appearing in 64 games. Skilled on both ends of the field, Palguta offered stout defensive play for the Big Red, while providing a scoring threat at the other end. This season, he scored the first Big Red goal of the season, when he tied the score in the season opener at Lehigh.

Princeton junior Darren Spicer was given Player of the Year honors after his 12 goals and one assist led the Ivy League in goals and points (25). Harvard's Mike Fucito was named the Rookie of the Year based on his nine points this season.
