Hawks Travel to Delaware for Mid-Week Clash With Blue Hens

PHILADELPHIA, Pa.--The 0-0-1 SJU men's soccer team will take on the Blue Hens of Delaware tonight at 7:00 p.m. The match will take place at Delaware's Mini-Stadium and LiveStats will be provided by Delaware's Sports Information staff.

The Hawks will face their second straight CAA opponent after tying Drexel 0-0 on Friday night. Bryan Benedict was the star as he made 10 saves in preserving the shutout. Colin Baker led the team with five shots.

It was the first time since 1994 that Saint Joseph's kicked off a season with a tie. That time, SJU held Philadelphia University to a scoreless draw.

SJU holds a 9-10-3 all-time record against the Blue Hens, last facing Delaware in 1988 losing 2-1 at Newark. SJU last defeated Delaware in 1987, 2-1 on Finnesey Field.

The Hawks are 2-5-0 playing games on September 9.
