Sept. 9, 2008
The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team is coming off of its first win of the season with a 5-1 decision at Jacksonville University. FAU's defense has been consistent in 2008, giving up just one goal in three of its four matches. The offense generated many shots and was able to capitalize on those shots against JU.
FAU (1-3-0) looks to continue solid play with match-ups at Stetson University (3-1-0) and a home match against Seattle University (3-1-0). Stetson University beat Florida International University with a score of 4-1, but most recently lost to the University of Central Florida with a score of 1-0. Located in Deland, Stetson will host FAU on Friday, September 12 at 7 p.m. FAU is 19-10-2 all-time against the Hatters of Stetson, including a 2-1 Owl victory in 2007.
The Owls will return home on Saturday, September 13 at 7 p.m. to face Seattle University at FAU Field, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton. The Redhawks' only loss of the season came against Chico State University in a 1-0 match, and SU most recently beat Howard University with a score of 9-1. This will be the first meeting between FAU and SU. The match will be the second of four home matches that FAU will host this season.
Youth soccer league members wearing their jersey will be able to purchase their game ticket for only $1 and Jr. Owl Club members will receive free admission.
