The Mexican National Team gets in a stretch on Flames Field.
June 9, 2008
Chicago, Ill.- Proving once again that Flames Field is a world-class soccer surface, the Mexican national team recently made the UIC men's soccer team's home pitch its training ground for its friendly against Peru.
"El Tri" utilized Flames Field this past Friday for a training session before playing Peru down the road at Soldier Field on Sunday, a match that Mexico won handily by a 4-0 score.
The team trained for over an hour before taking part in media sessions with local and national writers and television reporters.
This was not the first time that Mexico has trained on Flames Field, having used UIC's pitch for a practice two years ago.
In addition to Mexico, Flames Field has also hosted the likes of the U.S. men's national team, the Canadian national team, the 2006 Major League Soccer All-Stars, the Chicago Fire, the Los Angeles Galaxy and various other national and international clubs.
