AMHERST, Mass. - Former UMass men's lacrosse standout Mark Millon was named the Major League Lacrosse (MLL) Player of the Week after setting a league record with 14 points against Baltimore.
Millon, a 1993 graduate of Massachusetts, plays attack for the Boston Cannons.
Millon set a Major League Lacrosse record and tied another during the Cannons' 25-13 win over Baltimore on Sunday night, snapping Baltimore's nine-game win streak. He recorded 14 points with a nine-goal, five-assist effort in his first game in Baltimore since being traded to the American Division champions during the off-season.
The nine goals ties a single-game record set by Long Island A Tim Goettelmann during the 2003 season, while the 14 points eclipses his own previous mark of 12, set against Rochester during the 2003 season.
Millon is the league's leading scorer with 36 goals and 52 points following the record-tying effort. He has 204 career goals and 301 career points in five MLL seasons.
