FOXBOROUGH, MA - The Johns Hopkins men's lacrosse team placed five players on the 2008 USILA All-America team, which was announced today at the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championships. Senior midfielder Paul Rabil was JHU's lone first team honoree, while classmate Stephen Peyser garnered second team honors. The Blue Jays had three players earn third team honors as senior attackman Kevin Huntley, senior defenseman Matt Bocklett and junior defenseman Michael Evans were all named to the team.

Rabil garners first team honors for the third straight year and overall All-America status for the fourth time. He is the 21st player in school history to earn First Team All-America honors three times and just the 20th to earn All-America status four times. He entered Saturday's NCAA Semifinal game against Duke as JHU's leading scorer on the year with 29 goals and 12 assists for 41 points. He ranks as Hopkins' all-time scoring leader in the NCAA Tournament (42 points) and the all-time goal-scoring leader among JHU midfielders (104).

One of the most versatile midfielders in school history, Peyser makes the jump from the third team to second team this season. He already has a career-high 19 goals and 27 points this season and leads the team in ground balls (96) as well. He has won 120-of-211 (.569) faceoffs and has registered at least one point in 14 of JHU's 15 games this season.

Evans is making his second straight appearance on the All-America team after earning honorable mention status a year ago. Evans is the leader of the Blue Jay defense and routinely draws the assignment of marking the opposition's top attackman. He has started all 15 games this season and has sparked a Blue Jay defense that has allowed a total of just 31 goals during JHU's current seven-game winning streak.

Bocklet is making his first appearance on the All-America team and has been nothing short of sensational for the Blue Jays this season. He currently has one goal, one assist and 85 ground balls on the year. His 85 ground balls are the most by a non-faceoff specialist at Johns Hopkins since Mike Federico had 89 in 1978. He posted a career-high 12 ground balls in JHU's win at Loyola and currently ranks eighth in the nation in ground balls per game (5.67).

Huntley rounds out JHU's All-America selections as he makes his second appearance as a third team selection (2006). He ranks second on the team in goals (28) and points (36) and is tied for 10th in career goals at JHU (103). He is one of just nine players in school history with 20 or more career goals in the NCAA Tournament (20 entering today's NCAA Semifinal against Duke). Huntley's 36 points this season match his career high (2006).
