CSTV Gets Back On The Ice With Crease-To-Crease College Hockey Coverage

NEW YORK (October 4, 2006) - CSTV Networks is gearing up for the network's fourth year of college hockey programming, featuring the nation's leading television and online coverage for the 2006-07 season and the most game coverage available anywhere.  CSTV will once again feature a top-flight schedule showcasing the nation's elite teams, including all of the top ten ranked teams according to the USCHO.com/CSTV Division I Men's preseason poll.  In addition, CSTV.com will serve as the ultimate resource for college hockey fans with exclusive and in-depth coverage, including weekly columns, features, news and analysis.

On Friday, October 13, CSTV's comprehensive season of weekly weekend college hockey telecasts returns to the ice as #6 North Dakota travels to defending NCAA Champion #1 Wisconsin, to face-off against the Badgers at 8:30 p.m. ET.  CSTV's weekly national college hockey studio show The #1 College Hockey Show returns for its second season and will air Friday nights preceding each CSTV game. 


Veteran college hockey expert Dave Starman returns for his fourth year as CSTV's lead game analyst and will also lend his expertise to CSTV's studio shows.  Starman is a national columnist for CSTV.com and USCHO.com, and is one of college hockey's most respected media personalities.  Former assistant coach for the Denver Pioneers and Wisconsin Badgers Troy Ward joins CSTV this season as a game analyst, and Billy Jaffe, New York Islanders television analyst and former member of the University of Michigan hockey team, will serve as the network's studio analyst. 


Play-by-play talent includes CSTV veteran announcers Matt McConnell and Joe Beninati, and longtime NHL announcer Mike "Doc" Emrick.   CSTV.com's resident Rink Rat, Elliot Olshansky, is one of the nation's top college hockey reporters and columnists.  Olshansky writes a weekly column on CSTV.com and will cover at least 70 games on-site this season from more than 26 different arenas.  His blog is located at http://slog.cstv.com/rinkrat/, and includes streaming audio interviews with college hockey's top players in addition to Olshansky's insights on the action and atmosphere of the sport.


CSTV.com's coverage will once again include a weekly online chat session every Tuesday at 2:00 and 3:00 p.m. ET called Tuesday at the Rink, featuring college hockey insiders and Division I coaches, and the popular Hobey Baker Watch.  The CSTV Hobey Baker Watch, voted on by CSTV and CSTV.com hockey experts, is the nation's only exclusive weekly prediction of who will win college hockey's most prestigious individual honor.
