Lakers Grieve Tim Breslin's Passing

Feb. 10, 2005

The Central Collegiate Hockey Association is saddened to learn of the passing of Lake Superior State alumnus Tim Breslin on Wednesday, February 9. Breslin, who played for the Lakers from 1987-91, passed away after a courageous battle with colon cancer.

Breslin was an assistant captain in 1990-91

Breslin was a member of the Lakers' 1988 NCAA championship team and made three NCAA quarterfinal appearances with the Lakers; he served as an assistant captain in 1990-91. Breslin still shares Lake Superior State records for most points in a series (10) and most points in a game (2-5-7, vs. Ohio State on Feb. 9, 1991). He totaled 46 goals and 81 assists during his career.

On behalf of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association and the entire college hockey community, we would like to extend our deepest condolences to Tim Breslin's family and many friends.
