"The Hobey is his to lose, and the way I've seen him play lately, I don't believe that's going to happen. He's without a doubt the best player in college hockey right now." - Ben Holden, CSTV
"It's going to be hard to displace him from the top if he keeps scoring goals and the Wolverines keep winning." - Todd D. Milewski, Capital Times
Gerbe received a total of 27 points in this week's voting. Gerbe recorded a pair of assists Friday in the No. 8 Eagles' 5-4 win at UMass-Lowell on Friday before having a nine-game point streak snapped in a 2-2 tie with Boston University on Saturday. Gerbe remains the national leader in scoring average, with 18 goals and 18 assists in 21 games for 1.71 points-per-game.
"Going two games without a goal after eight straight with at least one shows he's human." - Todd D. Milewski, Capital Times
"No. 2 in the Hobey race, No. 1 in Hockey East." - Ken Schott, Schenectady Gazette
Jones received a total of 25 points in this week's voting. The RedHawks' captain scored a goal in No. 2 Miami's 6-1 win over Lake Superior State on Friday, then scored another goal and added an assist against the Lakers in Saturday's 5-0 win. Jones has 21 goals and 12 assists in 26 games this season, and leads the nation in game-winning goals with seven.
